I have been so exhausted today pretty sure the jet lag is creeping up on me, which is a worrying thought as I have never suffered with it before and its just reminding me that I am getting older.
I made a homemade potato, carrot and leek soup for lunch and although cooking soup out of a tin would be easier and quicker I don’t think I will ever go back to it. Homemade soup always tastes better and I always know whats in it. When I was a baby my grandad had a heart attack and one thing I remember growing up is that from that day on he never added salt to his dinner and for some reason that stuck with me and I have never have added to salt to my food not even when cooking which is a good thing as Ben always adds loads of salt to his meal.
Veggie soup.
I couldn’t get much cleaning done today as Ben was off work and it is always a nightmare to clean when he is around, if I lived alone I think I might live in the cleanest, prettiest house known to man. Certainly when we get a bigger house I am going to make sure I have my own room which I can decorate with floral wallpaper and have lots of pretty things in.
My diet at home is much better then it used to be unfortunately the area which lets me down is eating inĀ the work canteen because I have a manual job and work nights I usually want to just eat rubbish to keep me going. But this project has made me so aware about what I am eating I can no longer eat from the canteen as I don’t know where the ingredients came from or how things are cooked and because there is always left overs in my fridge I decided to dig out my lunch box and start being more healthy at work.
Packed lunch for work.

Lunch looks good and healthy
